WOW! Talk about hitting them out of the park!
This highly portable battery charging product by the always design conscious company, Mophie, is just the best thing I ever had attached to my keys! This is an absolute no brainer product, I highly recommended it without exception and here's why.
No matter what Apple says about their batteries, they just don't have the capacity to get a normal person through the entire day!
They suck power silently sitting in your pocket, in your purse, on your desk, where ever, its constantly doing something, checking emails, texts, silently updating your world while draining your battery and you haven't even made a phone call all day long!
So unless you live in a cave somewhere most folks need another way to get a little iPhone power boost during the day, and the Mophie Juice Pak Reserve does just that. In addition, because its a perfectly good solid key chain, it virtually eliminates the "I forget to bring it" factor from your life of power needs.
Never ceases to amaze me how these things just use the whatever available power with even minimal use! Well, to be fair, the 4s with its fancy dual core, and Siri living inside there, its no wonder! Apple's batteries have always been pretty poor so thank goodness Mophie saw this developing and, I might add, continuing need for power replenishment services!
So we all know you need extra power! But how to do it is the issue, and do so with a minimal amount of impact to the users ability to access it and to carry it around. Someone finally figured out!
For me the main thing that separates Mophie from all the other lackluster manufactures of these portable batteries is Mophie consistently releases products that are impeccably well thought out, fully functional and designed to be durable and long lasting. They always work as described and should you have an issue, their customer service is without exception the best, even better than Apple in my opinion!
The Mophie Juice Pak Reserve is no exception to their track record of products! It's really like carrying around a little Zippo lighter but without the weight. Same concept as a USB data stick, don't know why no one else hasn't put this simple concept together before but congratulations to the designers at Mophie for having this brainstorm of an idea!
Who leaves the house without their keys? If you have this attached to your car key, house key, whatever, then you'll never forget your little emergency portable iPhone power bumper upper. If your iPhone need a boost during the day, and if you get even one call that lasts for even ten minutes, then you will! So just attach the little Juice Reserve on your key ring and watch what happens! Presto, nearly a full charge in no time at all, AMAZING!
Then you just stick in the Reserve your USB port and it'll recharge in no time at all, it's fantastic!
I am getting one for every set of keys I have! Then I will be giving these as Christmas gifts to all my iPhone friends that deserve them.
Unless you carry around an a/c charger for your iPhone your going to run into problems with power sooner or later, sooner being the key word here, especially with the 4s! For me this is the ideal solution to all my portability charging problems!
I will never be without power again and I added really nothing to what I normally carry going out of the house!
It's so light weight that If attach it to your keys you won't notice the Juice Reserve and you'll be happy you did cause I assure you it will come in handy one day, especially when you need to make that emergency phone call and you have, WHAT?, no power!
It even has a little indicator to let you know the status and get this it will get you some 500 charge cycles, I'll loose my keys before then!
The other reviewer didn't give the product 5 stars because of the packaging? Well all I can say is that while an avid environmentalist, I am also one who understands that packaging these days needs to conform to certain specifications, like be big enough so the less honest of us out there are not inclined to slip them in their pockets and not pay for it while exiting the Apple store. Course they have to have the little imbedded chip for theft detection in the package as well.
So I won't hold the size of the packaging against Mophie, but what I would ask is for them to begin using recycled packaging material in addition to offering a sales incentive program for people to return spent Mophie batteries so they can be disposed of properly rather than end up in local landfills. Give folks a coupon to apply to future sales for the dead batteries they receive. That would be the more productive and environmentally correct thing for a company like Mophie to do and I bet they will!
Nonetheless, many thanks yet again to Mophie for being so great at providing that extra power over the years and now introducing this new lightweight generation of portable of power packs! Don't know what I would do without them!

I looked to buy this the first time I saw it on a tech blog several weeks ago. It's a terrific piece to carry in my bag for those all too frequent times when my iPhone battery runs low. I've let it charge my phone several times and even used the phone while it was attached. It works as advertised.
What I love:
- The exterior is wonderful. It's the sort of non-spongy rubber that's hard to not rub with your finger when you're holding it.
- Seams. It is very well built. The top closes very well and the USB connector slots in nicely
- The size is perfect. It's about the size of a medium sized lighter, although it weighs less.
- Attention to detail is first rate. The keyring and its attachment are nicely built. I expected junky. The status light is very nice too. You can tell a lot of thought went into this.
- Bonus: it works while my iPhone is still in its hard shell case. I hadn't considered it might not when I purchased it.
In short, there is nothing I don't like about the device itself. If it sounds like I'm gushing it's because there is so many crappy iPhone add-ons out there and time after time I've been duped. The Juice Pack is at the other end of the spectrum.
What I don't like:
- The excessive packaging. There were two layers of non-recyclable plastic around it and a big piece of cardboard. The whole thing was almost as big as those long box CD cases from years ago. Mophie, you made a wonderful device. Please don't wrap it in so much future landfill! This is the *only* reason I didn't give it 5 stars.
I would buy this again if I needed something for those emergencies when my phone has no charge. They sell bigger and more powerful versions but this one is the right size for me.

The only thing I don't like about my iPhone 4s is the limited battery life. This device is small and light and ready for use if my phone needs a charge when I am on the go. Very easy to use.
